FOREST RIDGE FORTUNE FUND
The Forest Ridge Fortune fund was started by cancer
survivor Shelley Fortune, with the help of the staff at
Forest Ridge. It was her vision that money could be raised
and set aside for other Henry County cancer victims.

Shelley was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of
2002. She had a lumpectomy and 7 weeks of radiation. In
her sixth week of radiation she found a second lump. After
determining that it was cancer also, she went through an
aggressive chemotherapy followed by a bilateral
mastectomy, and a full hysterectomy. She understood
that cancer could be financially devastating without help.
She felt blessed to have her family, friends, church and
the compassionate staff of Forest Ridge to help carry her
through the worst. She wanted to give back to the
community that reached out to her in her time of need.

To raise money a yearly concert has been held in New Castle Indiana’s Bundy Auditorium for
the past five years focused around Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. During this
time the Fund has strived to present a truly professional and entertaining show focused
around Music Legends. Performers include Billy G Miller with Circle City Blues Band,
International Piano Pumpin' Sensation - Terry Lee and the Rockaboogie band, Elvis/ Rick
Nelson tribute artist Duane Fortune and Original 1958 Rockabilly Recording Artist - Art Adams.
All of their talent and time are thankfully donated.       

With your donations, the mission of the Forest Ridge Fortune Fund is to financial assist
women with such services as early detection mammograms, as well as cancer patients who
are in need of medicines and other cancer related treatments.
